Elizabet's Story
Elizabet is seventeen years old – although she looks younger.
Both of her parents died leaving her and her 9-year-old sister orphaned and on their own. Elizabet has nobody else to turn to and so has had to provide for herself and her sister. Currently she is working in a laundry for six hours every day. She needs to earn more money but the owner of the laundry does not feel she is strong enough to do this. JeCCDO is providing Elizabet with money to cover her sister's welfare, including money for school uniform and other expenses.
JeCCDO is encouraging Elizabet to take a loan from their self-help group to set up a small business. Elizabet is thinking about this but is concerned that she may not be able to pay the loan back. JeCCDO will continue to work with Elizabet to provide her with the confidence and knowledge to set up her own business.
