Our work in Debre Zeit
JeCCDO began its community child-based programme work in Debre Zeit in 2002. A series of public meetings was organised to discuss the best ways of looking after orphan and vulnerable children and the local community. JeCCDO works closely with the Kebele (region) 11 community and has been assisting them with setting up their own community association. The town suffers from high rates of unemployment and therefore income-generating activities are of vital importance.
JeCCDO's projects in Debre Zeit are designed to allow local communities to take control of their lives so that they can climb out of poverty and respond to the needs of disadvantaged children.
