This association in Debre Zeit was set up by JeCCDO to raise awareness and promote prevention of HIV/Aids. The club was formed in 2003 and has grown from four to forty members. The club is well known in the town for its health promotion activities which includes music and drama, which are used to deliver health promotion messages to the public. The group also organises coffee ceremonies to help communities to discuss health issues openly. In Ethiopia discussing sexual health is not something that is culturally acceptable.
The group is also involved with peer education, counselling and
training other groups. Recently the group has become involved in delivering HIV/Aids awareness sessions with factory workers who are a high – risk group.
